Welcome!Calumet Clowns came into existence on February 25, 1977, when a group of new clowns who had just taken a course called The Art of Clowning at Purdue University Calumet decided to continue to enjoy "clowning around" and form a club. Calumet Clowns is affiliated with the World Clown Association and with Clowns of America International, and our alley currently has over 65 members. Our clowns come from all walks of life and some clown just for fun while others are full-time professional entertainers doing parties and picnics with magic, skits, and clown skills such as balloon sculptures, juggling, stilt walking and face or hand painting.
2007 marks our 30th year of clowning in the Calumet Region and we're celebrating this year with shows, performances, and special events. Our first parade of the year was the Lansing Good Neighbor Parade in May and a good time was had by all.
